Strategic Engineering, LLC is a Tampa-based company that provides code compliance services under F.S. 553.791 Private Provider. Unique to Florida, this statute was implemented in 2002 to support municipalities and bolster development. In essence, it allows engineers and architects to enter the permitting process for plan review and inspections and pick up some of the load bestowed upon our building departments from the exceptional development seen in Florida.

Private Provider Plan Review
Save 50-100 days of permitting time from statute
We provide a plan review for the designed structure per F.S. 553.791 (6) to determine compliance with the Florida Building Code 8th Edition.
Strategic Engineering endeavors to complete the first review of drawings within 5 to 10 business days and complete any subsequent reviews within 3 to 5 business days.
In addition to the expedited time of review provided above, per F.S. 533.791(10) the AHJ must issue the permit or provide a written notice identifying any non-compliances within 10 days of submission when the plans are reviewed by Strategic Engineering.

Private Provider Inspections
Address any municipal processes and challenges before they occur
We provide code compliance inspections during each phase of construction of the structure under FBC 110.3 per F.S. 553.791 (8) to determine compliance with the Florida Building Code 8th Edition. Strategic Engineering endeavors to perform inspections at the contractor’s request when scheduled correctly (SE will provide a comprehensive list to the contractor).
In addition, an extensive preconstruction meeting between Strategic Engineering and the construction team will be held prior to groundbreaking to shed light on any municipality processes and hurdles based on our experience.
